Hey, I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had a pretty good weekend, except I wasn't feeling really all that well, stuffy nose and sore throat. I watched a ton of movies and chilled with some friend's! I don't work mondays for right now which is good. I am going to go out for lunch with one of my friends, hot spicy vietnamese food to clear my nose.

This is what I wore to work on friday, it's a very classic colour combination. Red, white and black always seems to go so well together. This striped skirt is seriously my favorite though, I love the fit. I think it looks really good with the red cardigan and white tshirt. A very simple chic outfit. I love that I get to wear cute outfits to work now. I basically wear everything I would be wearing to school, except I'm not allowed to wear jeans. I am loving my new closet so much, it makes me excited to make outfits and mix and match.

nominated me for a stylish blogger award. Thank you very much!! So I figured I'd share some more fun facts with everyone

1. I try to plan my outfits every sunday, just to make sure I have clean clothes and have everything organized. Of course sometimes I wake up and hate what I had planned and throw things together spur of the moment

2. I mostly hang out with boys, they're usually much more laid back. Although I do have some really fantastic female friends.

3. I am a beer girl, although I do really enjoy wine as well.

4. My favorite author is Michael Ondaatje runner up would be Gabriel Garcia Marquez.

5. I ALWAYS have healthy snacks in my purse, "just in case" I suddenly want a banana or an apple or some animal crackers.

6. My favorite musician is Neil Young, no matter my mood he has something I like, such a talented man, with such a great range of sound.

7. I work out about 4 times a week (when I am not surgerized) and have played soccer for 8 years. I do this because it gives me energy, I feel great and it's great for my heart :)

Soft Shock

Hey Everybody, this is what I wore to work yesterday! Work is going really well, I am just so sore and tired afterwards. I work with some great ladies, and it's been fun so far. AND we get first dibs on shoes when they come in. Ohh yes. I am pretty happy it's friday though! I think I get to start back at the gym tomorrow, however, no lifting weights with my bum arm still.

I think this is a fairly girly look for me. I felt very feminine in it, it's the small floral print on the dress and the fact that I wore my light pink cardigan. In Junior/High School I wasn't very feminine, I wore band tshirts and ripped jeans almost everyday, maybe once every 2 months I'd wear a skirt. In the last few years I feel like I've really gotten into my femininity, I still love leather and rocker looks, but I feel really great dressing in a "romantic" way. It just depends on my mood. And yesterday it was +7 and felt like spring! This outfit fit the mood perfectly. But I took these pictures in like 2 minutes before work, so sorry for the poor quality!

Closet Revamp

All my scarfs in a big box

Not only did I get an amazing new closet to keep my clothes organized and everything having it's own place, I also got rid of A LOT of stuff I no longer wear. Which was very cleansing, and I am so so happy with my closet. I still need a few more hangers, and a thing to hang my belts, but it's soo great already.

Back to Work

Today is my first day of work since my surgery AND I'm at a new job. So I'm pretty nervous, but I think it will be fun. I'm working at payless shoes, so I think I'll be good. I do love shoes! I think I'll get along with the girls working there :) Ohh I am also in the process of cleaning out and changing my closet. We got a new one from Ikea and set most of it up last night. I am sooo excited to have a new organizational system. I love having an organized closet and before my cothes were just stuffed into drawers and some hanging around. It's going to be awesome, haha, I get so giddy when I go into Ikea. It's ridiculous.

This is what I am wearing for my first day of work, something casual but stil a little dressed up with the high waisted black skirt. I actually just bought this skirt last week, I really like it, it fits really well and the front zip is awesome. I also bought this top last week, the lace detailing is why I love it. I thought I'd add a nice purple cardigan for a pop of colour and my tiny polka dot tights. I like this outfit, it's very me!

This is what I wore to one of my best friend's suprise party on saturday night. I took photos of the outfit on saturday and they turned out great, then there was a card error and I couldn't download them! So I had to retake them this morning, and I don't like the way they turned out nearly as much. The lighting this morning wasn't great, and some of the photos aren't very clear. I apologize!! So on saturday we ambushed my friend at dinner with his family and screamed happy birthday at him. Then we hopped on a "limo bus" and drank champagne, ending up at some shitty bar. It was really fun though, had a few glasses of champagne and I got to see all my friends who I havn't seen in a while!

I just bought this skirt on monday with the rest of the giftcard Bryce got for me to F21. I wasn't having much luck finding anything I liked that day, until I came across this. It's silky, it's ruffled, it's the most beautiful yellow/gold ever. I don't own anything else this colour anymore so I had to have it! I put on a cute top and my cropped blazer, then added some purple heeled booties. I have a thing for purple and yellow together, it's one of those colour combinations I just really love for some reason. I loved my big polka dot tights with this look too. I got lots of compliments from my lovely friends all night too, awe they're so cute.

This Old World Keeps Spinning Round

everybody! Yesterday I went to Kingsway mall to walk around for about 5 hours while waiting for my dad to get back from the airport, sowe could go to the hockey game together. I ended up meeting up with my brother's ex and we had a fantastic time shopping and chatting and eating frozen yogurt! I had a great day, and walked a ton which was really good for my leg.

This is what I'm wearing today, I wanted to dress down my heart patterned dress. I like this gray and black flannel top, belted with this dress. I added my scarf for extra warmth and to pull everything together. I figured with mixing the printed dress with the flannel I wouldn't wear some printed tights. I honestly can't get enough of print mixing, it's my favorite thing ever.

Oh hey! This is what I wore I decided to wear today, I wanted some colour in my outfit. I keep seeing spring collections and photoshoots and it's killing me! Spring is still MONTHS away where I live. Literally we still end up getting snow in April most years. But this doesn't mean I can't try to encorporate some things. When I went shopping I bought some cute little flower clips for my hair, so when I'm feeling like spring will never come, I can cheer myself up that way.

I bought this dress over a year ago, it's super casual and comfortable. Looks almost like denim, but it's a really nice cotten. I love the way it looks with the purple cardigan overtop and belted with the dress sleeves poking out. I added my fantastic leopard print tights and my leopard ring for some pow. POW. That's the exact face I'm making in the photo below, pow.

A Summer Dress in Winter

The weather has smartened up!! It went from -23 yesterday to -7 today! It's absolutley wonderful, I think I may venture out for a walk even. It's going to be a lovely week which makes me happy. I start work next tuesday and have to start getting more walking in to prepare me. I went to the mall yesterday and walked around (& shopped of course). Trying on tops really hurt my arm, but I was very careful and found some very cute items. I'm feeling a lot better than last week, because I have been able to get out much more often.

This is the other dress Bryce's mom bought for me in Hawaii, it's really very summery. Its got a feminine small floral print, ruffles on the bottom is very lightweight. It's got a dropped waist and I love the way it fits. It's going to be the perfect summer dress, throw on a fedora and hang out outside. I really wanted to wear it now though, so I pulled on my very soft sweater and belted it. It's a wee bit short, but it's such a great dress. This look feels a little bit preppy but feminine and different from what I usually wear. I love this outfit actually! I like the way brown, black and purple look together, especially here.
I'm going to go for a walk then I'll check out everyones blog :)

Can't Always Get What You Want

I bring you new photos from the frigid temperatures, and snowy landscape of Edmonton. I braved the cold for about 5 minutes to take these yesterday. It was prettty chilly, but not so bad if you're only out there for 5 minutes. My arm is still healing, it's not really swollen anymore which is nice and is getting less and less sore.
I bought this scarf when I went to the mall for a job interview, I think it's really pretty. It's suppper soft too which I love. I don't necessarily like this outfit as a whole, but it's difficult to change with a bum arm, so I just figured I'd photograph the first thing I threw on. I'm wearing my silky red skirt, for a pop of colour. I've always been fond of leopard print and red together anyways. I put on my blazer to finish everything off.

Because of this surgery and the fact that I have to have another one eventually I decided to take this term off school. I'll be going back in september to finish my last year which will be great. I got a job at payless shoes so once I'm done healing I can work and save money for school. I'm pretty excited, I think I'll be good at selling shoes :) Hopefully my whole paycheck doesn't end up going there though...haha
