Whats in your bag?

I always find it interesting when I see what other people keep in their purses on an everyday basis. So I thought I'd give you a little peek into the private world of my purse! First and foremost I carry a lot of stuff in my purse, always. Just in case. Always need some shades, water bottle and deoderant (I somehow always forget) my wallet, of course. My ipod, because I can't go anywhere without music. My moleskins and pen for writing down outfit ideas and inspiration when it hits me.

Have my makeup and hair stuffs, gum and lipgloss, always an apple or some sort of snack (usually have some carrots and granola bars kicking around too). And chopsticks, because I love me some thai/vietnamese food.

Florals & Lace

Oh, Hi there! The sun peeked out of the clouds for a few minutes this evening and it definitely made me feel happy. What a wonderful thing vitamen D is huh? This is just a work/coffee date outfit from today. My brother and I went for coffee because he's on spring break and I work stupid shifts. We had a good time, decided to drive around and find a spot to take pictures. Too bad everything is white or brown right now. It was nice to have someone actually take my pictures though!

So I loved this outfit in theory, but I think because I really liked my outfit yesterday, this felt lackluster? Perhaps? I do love this skirt though (one of my online F21 purchases) it's so soft feeling and the fit is very feminine. It's just dying to be worn without tights though!! The lace and floral print just needed to be paired together, and since it was a mix of a bit of print I just kept everything else solid in black. I actually ended up switching out this boots for my flats for work.

Roadhouse Blues

Good monday to you! If a monday can be good at all, I suppose. I had a busy weekend filled with work, shopping with the boy, lunch dates, and meeting up for drinks with some school friends who I hadn't seen in months! It was a lot of fun. As you can see though, it's still winter, although it's supposed to warm up a bunch this week! I just want some sunshine, when it's dark and gray like this photos turn out quite unflattering at certain angles (i.e. head on = bags under eyes)

As I said, I'm obsessed with these tights, I was so apprehensive about wearing white tights for months and now I can't stop wearing them! Hmmm. I liked the colour pallette of this outfit, the red, white, black and navy. Those colours to me look so great. This is the dress I legit broke the shopping ban for. Big red floral print, and fits like a dream. Better yet normally $88, and I snag it for $30 with my gift card. Hi Urban outfitters sale section, I love you.

I guess I've never formally introduced you guys to my other purse that I swap between, my other one is too big to haul to work everyday. This one is pretty simple, which is why I dress it up a little with this silk printed scarf I got at the antique mall a few weeks ago. One day I will be amazing like Caitlin and style my silk scarfs with cute outfits, but at this moment I love the way it looks on my purse. Western Canada's Fashion Week

Handcuffs Required Hello there, it's been a very busy weekend for me, which all started thursday night with the wonderful fashion show on whyte ave! I had never been to anything like that and it was actually really exciting and fun. Besides I got to meet other bloggers for the first time ever, and they were the sweetest ladies ever!! It was so funny, because I felt like I already knew them from seeing their posts. It was a lot of fun, and I was really impressed with some of our local talent. The girl who won the emerging talent contest was 15. 15?! At 15, my sense of style was ripped denim and tshirts. Not so stylish.

It was a lot of fun, and we got to sit front row too. I wanted to wear something really simple, colourful and comfortable. This dress was perfect for that, my sore throat was back so I felt comfortable and cute. A continuation of calling spring to me!! Colours! The outfit:

Flower in the sun

Title: Flower in the sun-Janis Joplin. I am not in the sun, but hoping to be!

This is me trying to dress springlike to bring spring to me! This is one of the dresses that I broke my shopping ban for. I saw this print and I had to have it. Because you know I'm a huge sucker for a print. Florals and pockets? Yes please! My shopping ban only lasted from march 1-march 22. But it's a starting point.

I feel like I'm a smarter shopper, I know what I want, how much I'm willing to buy, what I want to spend etc. I just ordered a skirt, a top and some cute underthangs off F21 website last night too. It was after MUCH deliberation and thinking of what I could pair them with etc. And for the next 3 weeks I am only going to try to only thrift/vintage shop, if I feel the need to shop. A new challange!

Back to this look, this is what I wore yesterday. We all know I adore this print, and I'm having a bit of an obsession with my white tights/socks (I want to wear them with evvverything). I like them better with my little booties too, which I am busting out after their hibernation, spring or not! OH, I got some flourescant orange nail polish. Love.

Snow White and the Neverending Winter

Hello my lovelies (you should probably imagine that in a weird voice) uhh, it's been snowing the last 3 days. Started on the first day of spring ><>

BUT, yesterday I won two tickets from both Vickie and Marie to western canada's fashion week. I get to go to the opening show thursday night and I'm really excited to go. Obviously I could only take one pair, so Marie had to redraw and let some other lucky lady go :) Now I just have to figure out something to wear...

So this outfit was for work, and I love my new white knee high socks, I just wish I could wear them without another pair of tights underneath. But the white on white is good. I love this skirt I'm wearing it so much. I have a really light pink shirt on and my gingham top over. I liked all the light shades with my black skirt. Although I wish I had of worn other shoes, these were the first I saw and I was rushing.
The plan is to start dressing in spring things and spring will come! Yes!

ps. I broke my shopping ban (Whoops) I was at west ed for payless training, and I thought "well I drove all this way...." but I didn't go crazy. Bought 2 dresses. One with a christmas gift card :)

Sick Girl

If I look cranky in some of these photos, please forgive me. I had a weird cold all last week, I'd wake up feeling like death with a swollen throat and then as the day went on it'd disappear (with the help of lemon ginger tea). These pictures are from friday I believe, green beer the night before + hurty throat = grumpy Jenna. But I feel a million times better after this weekend. Thank you for all the comments on the man and mines 2 year! He actually really read my blog for the first time after that (& even showed his mom, shes so cute and they both loved it!)
I wanted to wear my lace tank top over my heart dress, so I knotted it at the side (told you I'm obsessed) and wore my coziest sweater to make me feel better. Put on my favorite knee high boots and I was set. I couldn't resist wearing my heart necklace with my heart dress, because you know I'm sweet like that. I love the texture that the lace and chunky sweater add to this look. So I was comfortable and loved what I was wearing, best of both worlds!

Oh and I know people say you shouldn't wear navy and black together. But I do anyways, I try not to buy into these rules, because I like the way certain things that are "wrong" look sometimes.

2 years

So it is officially the first day of spring and bryce and mine's 2 year anniversary! We were friends for 5 years before we started dating, so it feels like longer/not that long, all at the same time. We're not really big romantics, I bought him a bobba fett flash drive and he made me a delicious meal! He's such a great cook, and that's all I really want anyways. He's pretty fantastic, I couldn't have gotten through the stress of surgeries this year so well without his support! Aww..I'm a sap?!

For dinner we had:
italian seasoned peppers/tomatoes
Baked potatoe, with salami bits, 2 types of cheese, green onions
Steak, with a homemade peppercorn/cranberry sauce
and pears soacked and cooked in blueberry wine with brown sugar on top
