Year In Review-2011

Year in Review. I'm really looking forward to 2012, but first I felt I should review 2011.
January: On January 4th I had surgery on my arm to replace my brachial artery, which got messed up in prior surgery. They took a vein from my leg and put it in my arm and after 4 months it becomes an artery. I spent the vast majority of January hanging around the house, reading and watching movies until I started work at Payless on the 24th. Photobucket
February: What a cold, bland, boring month. With chilling temperatures, loads of snow, all I wanted was for it to be March so I could go visit my brother in Victoria. Photobucket
March: My younger brother and I went to visit our older brother in Victoria for a week. We had an amazing time there, the weather was warm, we walked around, ate great food and took lots of pictures. I also got to meet a bunch of amazing Edmonton bloggers at fashion week, and am so grateful for that!
Photobucket Photobucket
April: The weather roller coasted along one day melting snow with warm temperatures the next day dumping more snow on us with freezing temperatures. Ah the Edmonton life. My camera also committed suicide by jumping off its tripod onto the concrete...how sad! I got my long awaited letter for heart surgery after 4 months of waiting to hear about it. Photobucket Photobucket
May: I got my camera back finally and just in time for the leaves to start coming out!! It was a pretty good month, working, BBQ's and mother's day! Nothing better than being able to go bare legged and sitting outside on my breaks Photobucket
June: Bryce turned the big ol' 22 at the beginning of this month and we had a nice little party for him. I spent the first part of the month back and forth through doctors' offices and trying to prepare for my open heart surgery on June 22nd. My surgery went really well and I couldn't be more grateful! They had to remove an entire rib but that's okay Photobucket
July: I spent most of this month in recovery mode, I had 6 weeks off from work. The first few weeks post surgery are always the worst, but by last couple weeks of July my brother and I were going on daily adventures and long walks.

August: I went back to work on the 8th and started cardiac rehabilitation at the Glen rose hospital, I love working out and this made me really happy. Then on the 20th I turned 22 years old! We had an 80's themed birthday party this year, and it was so much fun! I got a laptop from my wonderful family and at the very end of the month we adopted a baby dog! Photobucket
September: After 8 months away I went back to University and it felt sooo good. And I spent every moment of my free time cuddling my puppy dog! Also Western Canada's Fashion Week brought a lot of fun with fellow bloggers Photobucket Photobucket
October: Such a beautiful month, the leaves changed and I started really getting into the groove of things with University again. I made a rag doll wig for Halloween and that was so much fun Photobucket
November: One of the nicest November's we've had here in a while, barely any snow! Although school work started to really lay it on heavily it was a good busy month Photobucket
December: This month has been stressful and wonderful! Finals are always stressful but Christmas is always a wonderful reward for that. I have loved having my brother home and spending time with my family and friends

So 2011 was pretty rough, but I am excited to see what 2012 brings.

My dear, my deers

Photobucket
Good Morning my dears!! I am typing this from Banff!! My mom, dad, brothers and I drove down yesterday to relax and enjoy the mountains. It's beautiful and pretty warm out too! Duke is staying with Bryce's family and I miss him pretty bad already, but I'm sure he's being spoiled.
Here is my "deer sweater"! I have been searching for one for sooo long and finally while Christmas shopping last week I grabbed this one for 17 dollars at Forever 21. I was so excited, you know I love a cute print. A deer sweater to go with my deer necklace! I really liked the way it looked with my favourite mustard skirt, it dresses up the sweater a bit. Just something kind of casual for work last week.

Christmas Sparkle

Photobucket
Merry Christmas my loves!! I hope you got everything you wanted and spent some relaxing time with family and friends. I had such a wonderful Christmas eve eating seafood with my mom, dad, brothers, rabbits, Taz and Mr. Duke! I bought Duke a bowtie which he loved and made him look so handsome and festive.
This is what I wore for our Family Christmas Eve dinner, can't have Christmas without some glitter right?! I've had this sparkly cardigan for a few years and I've worn it countless times, sometimes a little sparkle goes a long way. A single LBD, funky tights, sparkle and my lovely deer necklace and I am Christmas ready :) Now time to veg out on the couch!

Compensate with Christmas Colours

Photobucket
Hello my sweets! It's almost Christmas, I'm done shopping (not done wrapping though) and am generally pretty excited. Dukes first Christmas!! He's very excited too I'm sure...Ha! It`s so nice to spend time with family and eat delicious foods. This is my inadvertantly Christmas look.
I was in a muck this day and couldn`t put an outfit together, so I grabbed this dress and decided to layer it with my forest green cardigan from Joe Fresh. And these rust tights I`ve had for a while. I thought they would be more orangy but they`re pretty red, it`s a good colour though!! I felt really bizarre not wearing any pattern! As we all know I have an addiction to pattern so be without was weird, so i obviously made up for that by wearing a bunch of colours. I hope you all have an amazing Christmas :)

Party Time, Excellent

Photobucket
Why hello there!! I finished my finals monday and went out celebrating and had a bit too much to drink. So yesterday I was pretty worse for wear haha, that final pint put me over! But I am getting so excited for Christmas in 5 days, my older brother is home and it's exciting :)
This is my outfit from the Christmas party saturday night. I made an extreme effort not to purchase anything new for this year. I usually do and then it's something I rarely end up wearing again and I don't want clothes that I can only wear once a year. I need things that are versatile! I ended up choosing my ruffly gold skirt which I of course love. I wore my backless onesie again, showing off the ol' battle wound. It was such a fun night, I love the big gatherings we always have. And my secret santa got me a beautiful necklace(pictures at the end)
ps. Sorry the awkwardness of bathroom photos, it was dark out!

"The green and gold is bold"

Photobucket
Good Monday Morning!! I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend, I most certainly did. The Christmas party was a great success, it was awesome to see everyone and enjoy ourselves, I seriously have great friends. I have my final final today! Yay for freedom and my older brother is going to be home later today. Time to let the Christmas fun begin.
I wore this out for lunch with my best friend, we had tasty spicy soup. I love this black and white dress but wanted to something colourful to pop with it. Well these bright yellow tights did just that! I really liked the green and mustardy combination, and it felt very familiar. I was racking my brain trying to think of what this combination reminded me of and then it hit me...Edmonton Eskimos. I'm a pretty big CFL fan and we are the green and gold!

Can't Get Enough

Photobucket
Hello dears, I hope you're all having a wonderful week! I'm busy working away on projects and studying for finals, but tomorrow night my friends and I are having our annual Christmas party!! I am so excited, we all dress up, make some food and bring a gift for our Secret Santa gift exchange. I'm very excited to see everyone :)
I really liked this look for work last week. This a new flannel I picked up a few weeks ago and really love it, it's soft, thick and has wonderful colours in it. I paired it with my silky teal skirt but decided to layer my black long cardigan over everything. I love layers and these ones were good without being bulky. Since this skirt is so short I paired my over the knee boots which I love so much!
Happy Friday
